Prism Extension - Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Prism ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Prism browser extension ("Extension").

2. Data Collection and Storage

Prism stores the following data locally in your browser:

• API Keys: If you choose to use API keys for direct access to AI services (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.), these keys are stored securely in your browser's local storage. We never have access to these keys.
• User Preferences: Your selected AI models, language preferences, and other settings are stored locally in your browser.
• Onboarding Status: Information about whether you have completed the initial setup tutorial is stored locally.

We do NOT collect:

• Personal identification information
• Browsing history or website data
• Conversation content or prompts
• Any data transmitted to external servers

3. Data Usage

All data stored by Prism is used solely for:

• Providing the core functionality of the Extension
• Remembering your preferences and settings
• Enhancing your user experience

We do not share, sell, or transmit any data to third parties, except as described in Section 4 below.

4. Third-Party Services

Prism interacts with the following third-party AI services:

• OpenAI (ChatGPT): When you use ChatGPT, requests are sent directly from your browser to api.openai.com using your own API key (if provided).
• Anthropic (Claude): When you use Claude, requests are sent directly from your browser to api.anthropic.com using your own API key (if provided).
• Google (Gemini): When you use Gemini, requests are sent directly from your browser to generativelanguage.googleapis.com using your own API key (if provided).
• ByteDance (Doubao): When you use Doubao, interactions occur through the doubao.com website.

Important: When you use API keys, all API requests are made directly from your browser to the respective AI service providers. Prism does not intercept, store, or have access to these requests or responses. Your API keys and all conversation data remain private and are subject to the privacy policies of the respective AI service providers.

When you use AI services through their websites (without API keys), Prism injects content scripts to facilitate interactions. These scripts only run on the specific AI service domains (chatgpt.com, claude.ai, gemini.google.com, doubao.com) and do not collect or transmit any data.

5. Permissions

Prism requires the following permissions:

• sidePanel: To display the Extension's interface in the browser side panel.
• storage: To save your preferences and API keys locally in your browser.
• tabs: To find or create tabs for AI service websites.
• scripting: To inject content scripts into AI service websites for interaction.
• activeTab: To detect which AI service website you are currently viewing.
• Host Permissions: To access AI service websites and their APIs (only when you explicitly use these services).

All permissions are used solely for the Extension's core functionality and are not used to collect or transmit personal data.

6. Data Security

All data stored by Prism is kept locally in your browser using Chrome's secure storage APIs. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

• All data is encrypted at rest using browser security features
• API keys are stored securely and never transmitted to our servers
• No data is collected or transmitted to external servers

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access all data stored by Prism through your browser's extension settings
• Delete all stored data by uninstalling the Extension
• Modify or remove API keys at any time through the Extension's settings
• Control which AI services you use and how you interact with them

8. Children's Privacy

Prism is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

5. 权限

Prism 需要以下权限：
